Negroni

Campari is most definitely a marmite drink (you either love it or hate it, there’s no in-between) and I’ve loved it since my first sip of the bright red aperitif, so its no surprise that I love a Negroni. It turns out that Stanley Tucci makes the odd Negroni too, which only makes me love this drink more (what’s not to love about Stanley???).

Ingredients

Equal measures of:

Campari

Red Vermouth

Gin of your choice

Lots of ice

Orange peel to garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Tip all of the ingredients into a glass with ice, and stir vigorously (or shake in a cocktail shaker, there’s no cocktail police here).
  2. Strain into a second rocks glass, half filled with yet more ice.
  3. Serve with a twist of orange peel if you have an orange handy (I never seem to).
  4. Don’t drink too many, these are strong!
