Sometimes only a Margarita will do on a Friday night, and last night was one of those nights. It’s the end of the summer but the sun is still shining into the evening, and starting the weekend sipping one of these was rather wonderful. Alas the cat didn’t seem to think so.

Ingredients
Per glass:
60ml tequila
30ml cointreau/triple sec
30ml fresh lime juice
15ml sugar syrup*
Free flowing salt
Method
- Gently rub the rim of the glass with half a lime (after you’ve squeezed out the juice), then dip the glass onto a pile of salt until covered. Or not, because some weird people don’t like the salt.
- Tip the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice, and shake vigourously.
- Strain into your prepared glass.
- Enjoy!
*Oh and the sugar syrup is optional, some prefer it without.
