Amaretto Sour

This is one of my husband’s favourite cocktails, and as a lover of all things almond (seriously, I’d live on marzipan alone if given the chance), I rather like it too. Not as sweet as you’d think due to the fresh lemon juice, and technically should be served in a rocks glass with additional ice, but I especially love these glasses so that’s how we had them this time around. If you look really closely you can see a cherry floating around in there….


Per glass:

60ml Disaronno

30ml fresh lemon juice

15ml syrup from a jar of cocktail cherries

10ml egg white

1-2 cocktail cherries


  1. Fling all of the ingredients (bar the actual cherries) into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice.
  2. Shake a lot. I mean a whole lot. For ages because you want to get the egg white nice and fluffy.
  3. Strain into your glass – preferably a rocks glass with yet more ice, and chuck in a cherry or two.
  4. Enjoy!
