Although I’ve never lived there, I’ve definitely inherited a taste for all things Turkish from my father, and a love of all things rose is one of them. I think if given the chance the only thing I’d ever have on toast is rose petal jam (marmite comes second) and I’m quite partial to rose flavoured everything – see my post on rose cupcakes. Anyhooooo, getting to the point here, I love a cocktail on a Friday evening and I think that Lanique is rather special. It’s a rose liqueur spirit that you can drink just like a GnT, topped with fizz, as a sour over ice with lime, as a martini, mojito, or just like this as a margarita. Isn’t it pretty?

Ingredients
Makes 2 small glasses:
30ml Lanique
70ml tequila
30ml sugar syrup
50ml lime juice
Method
- Fling all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and shake hard for a good 30 seconds.
- Strain into your glass of choice, and garnish with a slice of lime if you’re feeling fancy.
- Welcome to the weekend!
PS Yes the glass is very pretty too. I was given a set for my birthday after none other than Stanley Tucci recommended them as he prepared a Negroni. If it’s good enough for The Tucci its good enough for me!
That sounds like something we should be drinking on my new patio!
