This drink is exceedingly Autumnal, and exceedingly easy to both make and drink. As with all drinks containing the suffix ‘tini’ you’ll want this to be as cold as possible – yes you’re going to shake it up with ice, but if you keep your vodka in the freezer that’ll help too. Another step would be to stash your martini glasses in the freezer for a while to chill down, but I never seem to have the space available for that so it’s a thing I never manage to do. Presentation-wise, the slice of apple is of course optional, but between that and the apple juice in the drink that’s got to be one of your five-a-day, right?

Ingredients
Per glass:
60ml Vodka
60ml cloudy apple juice
1.5 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp maple syrup
Method
- Fling all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice.
- Wrap in a tea towel and shake like crazy. You need the tea towel or else your hands will be frozen to your shaker, and that’s not fun.
- Strain into your glass, slide on a slice of apple if it floats your boat.
- Enjoy!
